Founded in 1930, during one of the most uncertain periods in modern history, our agency was built on a simple belief: property is never just bricks and mortar — it represents security, stability, family, opportunity, and the future.
For nearly a century, we have remained proudly independent, helping generations of landlords, vendors, buyers, and tenants navigate life’s biggest decisions through changing markets, economic uncertainty, housing booms, recessions, and ever-evolving legislation. While the property industry has transformed dramatically since 1930, one thing has never changed — people still want an estate agent they can trust to genuinely protect their interests and guide them with honesty and experience.
Over the decades, we saw landlords becoming increasingly frustrated by unreliable tenants, long void periods, growing compliance pressures, and the stress of managing valuable assets in an increasingly complex market. We saw vendors overwhelmed by poor communication, uncertain chains, disappointing marketing, and agents more focused on winning instructions than delivering results. We understood that behind every property transaction is usually a major life event — retirement, relocation, financial pressure, expanding families, bereavement, downsizing, or the desire for greater security and peace of mind.
That understanding shaped the business we are today.
What began as a traditional independent estate agency evolved into a modern sales, lettings, and property management company designed around solving real problems for real people. Today, we combine nearly 100 years of property expertise with advanced technology, intelligent marketing systems, targeted lead generation, and fast-response processes that help connect properties with serious buyers and qualified renters quickly and effectively.
But technology alone is not what makes us different.
Our real strength comes from understanding the fears, pressures, and uncertainties clients face when selling or letting a property. We know landlords worry about costly void periods, problematic tenants, changing legislation, and whether their property is truly being looked after properly. We understand that vendors fear their property sitting unsold, chains collapsing, poor communication, or being pressured into accepting less than their property deserves.
That is why our approach has always been proactive, personal, and solutions-focused.
We work to minimise stress, protect our clients’ investments, and create smooth, well-managed transactions from start to finish. From generating strong buyer and tenant demand through modern marketing systems, to careful tenant referencing, skilled negotiation, proactive communication, and hands-on sales progression, every part of our service is designed to give clients confidence, clarity, and reassurance throughout the process.
Because we believe clients deserve more than promises.
Businesses do not remain trusted for nearly a century by accident. Our longevity has been built on relationships, reputation, results, and continually adapting to meet the changing needs of landlords and vendors across generations.
Nearly 100 years after opening our doors, we still believe the best property service comes from combining experience, innovation, and genuine care for the people behind every move.
We are not simply here to list properties.
We are here to protect investments, reduce uncertainty, and help people move forward with confidence.
Owner
Having successfully led Jollye & Wood since acquiring the business in 2000, Joe Naggie has continued to build on the company’s trusted reputation while modernising the agency for today’s fast-moving property market.
Born and raised in London, Joe developed a strong work ethic and entrepreneurial mindset from an early age. With a career spanning retail management, hospitality, financial services, mortgages, and over 30 years within property-related industries, he brings clients a rare combination of business experience, marketing knowledge, negotiation skill, and genuine understanding of people.
Before entering estate agency, Joe successfully developed and managed a thriving restaurant overlooking the harbour in St Ives, Cornwall — an experience that strengthened his passion for customer service, communication, and building lasting relationships. His later work as a financial and mortgage adviser provided valuable insight into the financial pressures and complexities many buyers, sellers, landlords, and investors face when moving property.
Since taking ownership of Jollye & Wood, Joe has overseen the company’s continued growth across Beckenham, Bromley, Shortlands, South East London, and North Kent. While embracing advanced marketing strategies and high-tech property management systems to help generate buyers, tenants, and landlords more effectively, he has remained committed to the traditional values that have defined the business since 1930: honesty, professionalism, personal service, and trust.
Joe understands that property transactions are rarely “just business.” Whether clients are selling a family home, letting an investment property, downsizing, relocating, or navigating major life changes, his focus has always been on helping make the process as smooth, informed, and stress-free as possible.
Outside of property, Joe enjoys reading, cycling, sound engineering at his local church, DIY projects, and hopes to return to playing the trumpet in the near future. He is married with one daughter and remains passionate about innovation, marketing, and continually improving the client experience.
